The training will utilize the Department of Consumer Affairs\u2019 Power to Arrest Training Manual.<\/li>\n<li>Overview of Power to Arrest Manual and subject matter.<\/li>\n<li>Definition of arrest and discussion on the implications to the subject, the guard, and the company.<\/li>\n<li>Lecture\/discussion on escalation and de-escalation techniques in the use of force.<\/li>\n<li>Lecture\/discussion in the use of restraint techniques and their implications.<\/li>\n<li>Discussion of trespass laws and implications of enforcement.<\/li>\n<li>Completion of the Power to Arrest Training Manual Test with a 100% score in accordance with the Manual\u2019s Administering<\/li>\n<li>Instructions. Train the student in BSIS Powers to Arrest procedures<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Appropriate Use Of Force (AUOF) \u2013 5 Hours<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><em><strong>(Please note the Appropriate Use of Force training must be held in-person)<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Appropriate Use of Force Overview<\/li>\n<li>Legal Standards for the Use of Force<\/li>\n<li>Use of Objectively Reasonable Force<\/li>\n<li>Duty to Intercede.<\/li>\n<li>Supervisory Responsibilities<\/li>\n<li>Use of Force Review and Analysis<\/li>\n<li>De-escalation and Interpersonal Communication Training<\/li>\n<li>Implicit and Explicit Bias and Cultural Competency<\/li>\n<li>Skills, Including De-escalation Techniques to Interact with People with Disabilities or Behavioral Health Issues<\/li>\n<li>Use of Force Scenario Training.<\/li>\n<li>Mental Health and Policing of the Public<\/li>\n<li>Active Shooter Situations<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Powers to Arrest (PTA) \u2013 3 Hours Educational Objectives To familiarize and instruct the individual on the training topics delineated at Business and Professions Code section 7583.7, including, without limitation, legal aspects, techniques, liability, and company requirements relating to the arrest of an individual.
